Emily Finch

Emily FinchMs. Emily, a native of Marshalltown, Iowa, began her dancing career at the age of three. Always knowing she wanted to be a dance teacher, Emily attended the University of New Mexico to study dance. Ms. Finch then transferred to Arizona State University where she earned her BFA in Dance Education. She was the Outstanding Dance Education Student for the ASU Department of Dance and the 2001 winner of the Arizona Choreography Competition. Following graduation, Emily danced with two Valley modern dance companies. Ms. Finch then moved to Iowa where she was an Instructor and Studio Director for her childhood studio in 4 neighboring communities. Emily was a core member of Des Moines’ only professional modern dance company, and has performed in Canada and Minneapolis with them.

Since moving back to the Valley in 2006, Emily has taught for local studios in Scottsdale, Chandler, Mesa, and Tempe. Ms. Finch has taught classes in pre-school dance, creative movement, ballet, modern, pointe, lyrical, jazz, tap, yoga and fitness. Emily is thrilled to be fulfilling her dream of owning a dance studio. Every evening she can be found holding dance parties in her living room with her two beautiful daughters.

Ms Ashley
Instructor/Studio Manager

Ashley ZarrMs Ashley, originally from Iowa Falls, began dancing under the tutelage of Robert Thomas and Miyoko Kato at Robert Thomas Dancenter. Studying ballet, tap, jazz, and pointe, Ashley also danced and competed with her high school dance team. While attending the University of Iowa and majoring in dance, Ashley also taught at various studios, sharing her love of movement with her students. Since moving to the Valley in 2010 to pursue her own professional dancing, Ashley has danced with Desert Dance Theatre, Dulce Dance Company, and is currently in her second season with Scorpius Dance Theatre. She also performs as a guest artist with Halo Movement Collective and CaZo Dance Company.


Ms Brianna

Brianna DelRosalMs Brianna, originally from Woodward, OK was raised in Gilbert, AZ, and grew up around the sounds and steps of cumbias and corridas. Now as an adult, Brianna still keeps her roots in social dance close while exploring other styles like modern and hip hop movement. Traveling to parts of the world that include Paris and New York, Brianna is interested in experiencing how different people move and absorb themselves in the language of dance. Brianna has recently completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Education from Arizona State University. With a K-12 certification, Brianna looks forward to teaching all levels of dance and creativity.


Ms Brigid

Dance 101 Headshots-BrigidMs. Brigid has lived in northern New Jersey her whole life. She started dancing at the age of 3 and immediately fell in love with it. She joined her studio’s competition team when she was 6 and graduated from the studio when she was 18. When she was 15 she joined Nick Dinicolangelo’s Hands Down Tap Project which she continues to perform with the company in New Jersey. After coming to Arizona to attend ASU last year, she became an executive board member of the ASU club “Free the Dance” and has performed in the undergraduate show for the dance program. Along with that, she was recently in Brandon Trieu’s contemporary show held at Unexpected art gallery. Besides dance, Brigid is currently pursuing a BA in Design Studies Management and a minor in Business. In her free time she loves yoga, hiking, and fitness. She is excited to be apart of the Dance 101 family!

Ms Caitlyn

Caitlyn TaylorMs Caitlyn is originally from Iowa Falls, Iowa where she had extensive training in ballet, pointe, modern, tap, lyrical, jazz and hip hop under the direction of Emily Finch. For seven years she was a competitive dancer, competing throughout the Midwest. She was also an instructor for National Dance Alliance for two years and traveled the country teaching dance workshops. Caitlyn received her Associates Degree in Dance Performance from Scottsdale Community College where she performed with Instinct Dance Corps, S.A.J.E, and Moving Company. Aside from teaching, Caitlyn dances with Vega Arts and Entertainment, performing at various events around the valley, and is also a Physical Therapy Assistant, working at an outpatient clinic in the valley.

Ms Christine

Christine BoothMs Christine was born in Mesa, Arizona, but has lived in Iowa her whole life. She began her dancing career in third grade. She did studio dance where Emily Finch was her teacher. Christine danced on the Varsity Dance Team in high school all four years. The team won the State Championships every year. After high school she went to college and is now a Certified Dental Assistant.





Ms Elise

Elise GoitiaMs Elise was born and raised in Tempe, Arizona and has been dancing for twelve years. She started as a student at Marilyn Bostic’s Ballet Center and proceeded to train in ballet, broadway, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, and modern. Absolutely in love with learning how to dance, Elise spent more time in studios than her house. She began competing at age twelve and continued until she reached high school, when she began substituting as a dance teacher. By her senior year she had joined her high school’s Company dance team and was working as a teaching assistant and substituting for ballet and tap classes at Dance101. After Elise graduated from high school she moved to Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois to take dance classes and join Knox’s dance team. She helps out Emily whenever she comes home and looks forward to an exciting future in dance.

Ms Grace

Dance 101 Headshots-GraceMs. Grace grew up in Tucson, Arizona. She began dancing when she was two years old and has been ever since. She learned many different styles including ballet, tap, jazz, musical theater, and pointe. Ms. Grace danced competitively through her dance studio all through high school. She was captain of the pom team and was involved in musical theater. She has experience doing the choreography for various musicals. Ms. Grace studied elementary education at the University of Arizona with an emphasis in early childhood education. Ms. Grace is now in her sixth year of teaching and has taught grades pre-k through second. She teaches dance for an after-school program at her elementary school.


Ms Jessica

Dance 101 Headshots-JessicaMs Jessica, originally from El Paso, Texas, moved to Chandler, Arizona at age 10. In Texas, she participated in gymnastics, dance classes, and was a member of her five older brother’s dance crew as young as five years old. In Arizona, she joined her middle school’s Cheer & Pom team and her high school’s dance program, as well as graduated a member of the National Dance Honors Society. Ms Jessica has been the director of the Boys & Girls Club summer dance program for the last four summers at the Chandler-Comprade Branch. Aside from teaching dance, Ms Jessica is also the Cheer Coach for Willis Junior High in Chandler, Arizona. Ms Jessica is in her senior year at Arizona State University, where she will be graduating in May 2018 achieving a Bachelor Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a concentration in Dance and Educational Studies. Ms Jessica plans to continue to achieve a Masters in Secondary Education, and use her K-12 certification to enforce more Urban Arts & Culture into Public Schools.

Ms Kayla

Kayla ToomokaMs Kayla was born and raised in Sierra Vista, Arizona. In June 2016, Kayla completed her BFA in Dance (where she also obtained her Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card) as well as minors in Communication and Asian Pacific American Studies from ASU. Ms Kayla began dance at the young age of two, which also turned into attending musical theatre, acting, and voice lessons by the age of three. Ms Kayla has also participated in sports such as Danzan Ryu Jujitsu, Matsuno Kajukenbo Kai, gymnastics, cross-country, softball, basketball, pomline, and cheerleading. Ms Kayla is the co-founder of the dance and interdisciplinary company, OneTON Collective, has created her own dance company, Kaua Dance Company, is an original member of the Elektrolytes’ megacrew, ElektroAcademy, and has traveled across the United States for dance and with her dance media company/family, Step X Step. Her dreams and passions lie at the heart of inspiring others to achieve their own dreams through self-discovery and art.

Ms Lindsey

Lindsey CorumMs Lindsey, born and raised in Phoenix, began dancing at the young age of 3, started competing at 10 and teaching at 15. In high school she was president of performance dance, choreographing for all levels in the school, as well as captain of the pom team. After graduating high school Lindsey went on to make Arizona State’s Hip Hop Coalition where she performed at games and other events for the university. During her time at ASU she studied dance abroad for a year in Northern Ireland focusing on unique dance styles. Dance has opened so many doors for Lindsey leading her to her love of children, other passions such as acrobatic yoga, and the most amazing job of teaching. She plans on continuing to be involved in the dance world for as long as possible.


Ms Nicky

NickyMs Nicky was raised in the mountains of Truckee California. In her small town she enjoyed skiing, kayaking, hiking, and most of all dancing. She started with tap, jazz, and ballet at a young age and eventually branched out and found her love for urban and contemporary movement. Developing her studies further, Nicky recently earned her BFA in Dance from Arizona State University. In college, she began fusing styles, fueling self exploration and discovery. Nicky began investigating her interests for dance science and kinesiology, and hopes to pursue these interests further in Graduate School. She is very excited to get movin’ and groovin’ with her students!


Ms Tessa

Tessa CrouchMs Tessa was raised in Chandler, Arizona and began dancing at the age of 9. She learned styles from tap, jazz and ballet to ballroom, pointe and musical theatre. She danced recreationally for a few years and then began competing with the company at Dance Connection 2. Tessa competed regionally all throughout Arizona and on the national level. Tessa was awarded the Senior Scholarship at Dance Connection 2 for her leadership and work ethic. Competing taught Tessa professionalism and gave her confidence. While in high school she participated in her high school dance company as well as the pomline. Participating in these public school programs taught her leadership and accountability. Tessa has also participated in many community dance events. Currently, she is studying Business Communications with a minor in Dance at Arizona State University. She received a special talent award grant for her tuition because of her dance abilities. She has a love of learning as well as teaching. She hopes to learn just as much from her students as her students learn from her.
